{{Session | campaign = Echos of Lhynn | session_date = 23 January 2026 | game_date = Late Afternoon / Evening | synopsis = Following the harrowing airlock escape, the party encounters a mysterious maintenance droid before pushing north into a relic of the old world: a game room. Discoveries of ancient currency and "beauty enhancers" provide a brief respite before the party finds themselves in room like no other in the strange steel dungeon. With the realization that they have been exposed to a lethal, invisible toxin, the party hastily retreats to a secure area barricading themselves in for a desperate long rest. Continued from [[Session 143 The Airlock Escape and the Gaseous Cloud]] | summary = === The Departure of the Nurse === The rhythmic thudding at the north door finally reached a crescendo. Rather than a breach by a monster, the party was met with the mechanical persistence of a Maintenance Droid. The Exchange: Despite the tension, the party allowed Robo Dame to approach the door. Aldran, ever cautious, pressed his ear to the cold steel to track the mechanical movements outside, careful to avoid a sudden impact should the door buckle. A Quiet Exit: The interaction was brief and devoid of further violence. The Maintenance Droid seemed to serve as an escort; Robo Dame stepped through the threshold and vanished into the darkness of the corridor. As the door hissed shut behind them, the party was left alone in the silence of the facility. === The Game Room and the Golden Ticket === [[File:The Game Room.jpg|thumb|The Game Room]] Pushing north, the party stumbled into a "Game Room"—a surreal graveyard of ancient entertainment. Pinball Looting: Nail and Aldran, perhaps needing a physical outlet for their stress, began smashing the archaic pinball machines. Their destruction was rewarded with a cascade of silver coins. These coins depicted Emperor Videric and bore inscriptions from the year 244, commemorating the 14-year research project that would eventually birthed the Warforged. The "Beauty" Paste: While the warriors smashed machines, Egon searched the northeast corner, discovering a Container of Green Paste (6 uses). While Balmaris initially suspected it was a visibility or "true seeing" cream, a disastrous identification attempt (Nat 1) left the party unsure of its true nature—though the label suggested it was a "Beauty Enhancer." I've Got a Golden Ticket: The search yielded a more practical prize: an Orange Keycard. In a rare moment of levity amidst the gloom, Egon broke into a rendition of "I have an orange keycard!" to the tune of The Golden Ticket, earning a point of Inspiration for the much-needed comedic relief. === The Orange Suite and the Invisible Threat === The party moved through hallways of decayed fungi and rotted organic matter, eventually finding a secure, clean room requiring Orange-level clearance. === The Skeletal Remains === Inside, Aldran discovered skeletal figures with dried, green-black ichor staining their jaws. He carefully manipulated a device found on the body without touching it (Critical Success!), realizing it was a distress beacon designed to summon guards. Fearing a wave of Vegepygmies, the party opted not to trigger the voice-activated terminal nearby. === Scavenging the Past === The room was a goldmine of pre-collapse tech, including: * Books and various ID cards. * A functional magic tablet * Parts of a "laser pistol", which Aldran accidentally activated but managed to reset before a dangerous accidental discharge. === The Invisible Killer === The atmosphere soured when Nail noticed that the fungus in the halls was "sparkling"—a detail the party had failed to warn Aldran about before he walked through it. Egon, assesses the party’s deteriorating health, made a grim diagnosis: they were all Poisoned. He determined it was an airborne, lethal toxin (Something called radiation) that would require deep study to counteract. | treasure = [[The Videric Silver Denarius|Silver Videric Coins]] (historical value), Orange Keycard, Green Paste (6 uses), Tablet, Pistol Parts. | key_npcs = Maintenance Droid, Robo Dame (Departed). | tasks = Survive the long rest while poisoned. Determine a cure for the "sparkling" fungal radiation. Identify the contents of the tablet. | rumors = The "guards" summoned by the terminal may no longer be human—or even the Vegepygmies. The Warforged project was a 14-year labor of obsession for the Emperor called [[Project Sentience]]}}
