The Setting and Scene
Title:
The Radiation Rest and the Videric Protocol
Location:
Level I: Secure Orange Access Room (Medical/Research Annex) and the North-Eastern Corridor.
Recapping the Tale
Previous Session
Session 144 The Game Room and the Orange Keycard
Scene Overview
The session opens with a high-stakes Long Rest inside a secure Orange-access room. The party is currently suffering from a lethal, "sparkling" airborne toxin (Radiation). While the doors are sealed, the threat is internal: Egon must determine if he can treat the party before the poison reaches a terminal stage. Meanwhile, the Maintenance Droid and Robo Dame have departed, but the sounds of the facility's automated protocols resetting echo through the vents.
Setting Details
The room is sterile but filled with the grim remains of those who died before the collapse—skeletons with green-black ichor staining their jaws. The air is heavy with the scent of ozone and decaying fungi. Outside, the "sparkling" spores drift like radioactive snow, coating the corridors.
Notable Personages
Key NPCs
- Durmen Tredan: Guarding the door. Suspicious of the voice-activated terminal.
- Poision Egon: (Status: Poisoned/Irradiated). Must study the "Beauty Enhancer" paste and the nature of the spores.
- Nail: Recovering from the arm injury. Noticed the "sparkling" fungus first.
- Aldran: Handling the salvaged iPad and Pistol parts. Wary of the guard-summoning device.
The Player's Path
Player Goals
Survive the Lethal Radiation through Medicine/Nature checks; Decrypt the iPad files; Repair the salvaged Pistol.

Adventure Hooks
The Unredacted Truth: The iPad contains logs from the 14th year of Project Sentience, hinting that "Unwavering Resolve" was actually harvested souls.
Medical Report: Subject L. Brightshore

[FILE DECRYPTED: REPLICATION SEQUENCE 2]
"Subject ID: L. BRIGHTSHORE (Experiment 7: 'The Stabilized Anomaly') Genetic Match: 99.998% match to Phasnosh Crew Member C. VALERIUS.
Diagnostic Notes: The replication sequence for Sequence 2 has been terminated. While the cellular structure remains stable, the 'Soul-Spark' integration failed to take hold in the current chassis. Subject showed signs of 'Hostile Template Discrepancy'—specifically, an refusal to acknowledge the Emperor’s mandate despite the crystalline etching.
The 14th Year Protocol: As per Emperor Videric's decree, we have moved beyond simple programming. The 'Unwavering Resolve' we require cannot be coded; it must be harvested. By extracting the consciousness of loyalist generals and binding them to the Docent Cores, we eliminate the need for morale.
Current Status: Subject L. Brightshore is effectively a living blueprint. As long as the template exists, the facility can 'reroll' the clone upon termination. However, the radiation leakage in the lower Botanical Labs is beginning to affect the raw biomass. If the 'sparkling' particulates reach 400ppm, the next replication will be... mutated."
Key Events
